Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2022 Toyota Tundra- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5,000, air helper springs on our 2022 Toyota Tundra. Air helper springs are going to help to support the rear end of your vehicle when you're hauling something in the bed of your truck or from the hitch. With newer trucks, they tend to have softer coil springs for a nice ride quality. But what that leads to is that anytime you put any amount of weight on the back of the truck, it's going to cause a significant amount of squat compared to the older leaf style springs that we're on older vehicles. So when hauling those heavy loads, the air helper springs are gonna help to level out your load so that your truck is not squatting in the rear and you can get your headlights pointed back down on the road and a more sound contact with the front tires on the ground. more

Hey, everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs here on a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. Adding air helper springs here to your Silverado is gonna be an excellent option, because what it's gonna do is it's gonna provide some rear-end support when we're towing and hauling those heavy loads. So if we don't add any suspension enhancements to our truck here and we couple that really heavy trailer or we're throwing a ton of weight in our truck bed, what that's gonna do is it's going to sag the rear of the truck and it's gonna bring the front end of the truck up. Now that not only looks kind of goofy, that's actually gonna have drastic effects on our overall towing experience and the handling and performance of our truck. So one of the major things that people don't realize is a lot of our braking force comes from the front axle, and that braking force relies on the weight over the axle to help the truck come to a stop. So when we take the weight off the front axle and transfer it to the rear we're gonna be drastically reducing our braking power. more

So these kits come as a pair and they come fully assembled from RAS. They sit on top of your spring. There's nothing, no cutting, no welding. They simply sit on your leaf spring and bolt up at the shackle on the inside. more

Hi John with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'll show you how to install the Air Lift Load Lifter 5,000 series. It's going on a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500. So why airbags Well, today's trucks can handle a lot of weight. And you can do a lot with them even though this is a half ton pickup, they get the job done you usually have a lot of power and they're great for hauling boats, trailers, loads in the back, everything else, and they are coil spring in the back, which means they're gonna squat a little bit. If you do this often or if you have different items like a boat that weighs a certain amount or a camper that weighs a different amount these bags are adjustable and what they're gonna do is they're gonna bring your stock ride height back to level. more

Now, before we get to checking out the airbags, we wanna do some testing and see what the vehicle performs before and after the installation. We've got just the stock suspension right now, no airbags installed and we've got no weight in the hitch. So, for that, we're just checking our stock ride height to see where we're sitting. Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement Installation - 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Timbren suspension enhancement system for the rear axle on a 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500. Adding rear suspension helper springs is really a great option because your factory jounce bumper is pretty short and a lot of that comes down to people are daily driving their trucks more and more, so manufacturers are kind of making them a little bit more comfortable and that way, when you're daily driving, you're not getting that harsh suspension. But with that, sometimes the suspension squats quite a bit. And partially I think is because the jounce bumpers take so long to engage and by the time they do engage that suspensions really lost a lot of this travel. Whereas adding these are going to kind of give it a fighting chance. It's not gonna be able to squish down all the way and that's gonna allow those shocks to have more compression as you hit bumps. more

SumoSprings Solo Rear Helper Springs Installation - 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle on a 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500. Trucks have become kind of daily drivers for a lot of people, and with that, they're really aiming for comfort. But when you need a truck to do truck things, as far as carry weight or tow a trailer, it can still do it. The thing is, is that comfort that they've designed has allowed the vehicle to really sag and you're not gonna get as much suspension travel, and a lot of that comes down to your jounce bumpers. It takes a long time for those to engage. Well, if you can engage them a little bit quicker, it's gonna soften that blow, not only on normal driving, but also when that heavy load comes, the rear suspension is going to fight back with these SumoSprings in place, giving the suspension a fighting chance and just making a better overall towing experience. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate rear air helper airbags on a 2015 Ford Transit T-150. So we're gonna take this out on our test course, and this is set up for an electrician to use, so it's got all the equipment in the back, so already the jounce bumpers are pretty well resting on the axle, and that's gonna make for that suspension to not be able to move very well. And we just installed a hitch and brake controller, so they're planning on putting a trailer on suspension that's already kind of maxed out. So I'll be interested to see the difference that the airbags make. So let's hit some of these bumps and see how it rides. Not a whole lot of soaking up. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2020 GMC Sierra 2500- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Timbren Severe Service Suspension Enhancement for your rear axle on a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500. Now this is how it's going to sit when it's installed and this one is a press in style. Now these just simply replace your factory jounce bumpers, and yours may be a bolt in application but all of these are gonna be no drill. They just simply take out your factory jounce and add this height and they're all gonna live about an inch above the rear axle. And what that means is you're gonna get this to initiate a lot quicker. So minimal amounts of sag is gonna push this against the rear axle and this is gonna start working, whereas before your factory jounce bumper clearly is quite a bit shorter and there's a lot of sagging that's gonna have to happen before it starts working. more

So right now we have a factory suspension on our truck and put in some weight in the bed of it and we're gonna go on our test course and see how it feels. Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Airlift 1000 air helper springs for coil springs here on our 2023 Nissan Pathfinder. These airbags are gonna give you a five to 35 PSI range of adjustability so you can kind of fine tune exactly how much support you're gonna be getting from them. They have a thousand pound capacity and that does not mean that you can add an additional thousand pounds to your vehicle's tongue weight capacity or towing capacity. It's only going to help you support that weight. So this is going to just be an enhancement. It's not an addition to what you actually have for your capacities. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Rear Airbags on a 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty. Adding airbags to the back of your truck is really nice, because when you have a load that's really heavy or if you have a fifth-wheel or gooseneck that you pull, that truck is gonna wanna sag, and there are some downsides with the sagging. First off, you have a lot of stress that's put on the rear suspension and, honestly, the suspension really can't do a whole lot when it's already maxed out against the jounce bumpers. It also tilts the front of the vehicle up, so you're gonna have less braking, less steering feel. If you've ever had a truck loaded up, you kind of noticed that it gets real light in the steering wheel, and that's not exactly comforting when you're pulling a big load or have a heavy load in the bed. Now, these ones are rated at a 5,000 pound capacity and that's not to say that you're adding 5,000 pounds to what you can tow, but it can support up to that weight. more

Hi there Motor Homeowners, today on your 2005 Workhorse W 20 chassis Motor Home we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Sumo Springs on the rear axle. And this is what our Sumo Spring looks like when it's installed. You can see that the bracket is a custom fit for this chassis as it will line up with the factory jounce bumper attachment, and it will connect right on there on one side. And on the other side it actually lines up with factory holes that are already there present. So you don't have to do any drilling really with this setup to get these installed. It does have an optional hole in the event that the lower bolt is just unusable. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing SumoSprings front helper springs on a 2005 Workhorse W-Series. Now this is gonna be a quick easy upgrade that's gonna replace those factory jounce bumpers, and that way you have a little bit more steering feel, brake feel, and overall just a better driving experience. Now with our Sumos installed, you're gonna notice pretty quickly, once you lower that front down to get that axle back to normal height, that there's not a whole lot of gap under here where these Sumos are gonna rest, especially compared to our factory jounce. And that's a good thing, it's going to initiate quicker and just, there's gonna take less gap here for that sway to allow before engaging. And something else I'll point out, is if you look at the factory jounce bumpers, these are hollow inside here, I can reach my finger all the way in and I can actually, kind of, compress this with my fingers which, for a vehicle, passenger car, probably okay, but for something this heavy duty these do seem a little inadequate, and this is where those Sumos are really gonna come into play, especially when we're doing those hard turns. And when it comes to suspension, whether it be for a truck, a car, or even an RV, I think it's one of the better investments that you can do as far as upgrades on your vehicle, and that's because it's working every single time you drive it. more

SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs Installation - 2005 Winnebago Adventurer Motorhome- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today, we're taking a look and installing SumoSprings Front Helper Springs on the front of a 2005 Winnebago Adventurer. Now, if you hop under your Adventurer and you see these factory jounce bumpers, these do an okay job, but the problem is it takes quite a bit before these engage and with all that time of engaging, you're getting sway and kind of a top-heavy feel when you're driving your RV. So that kind of gives you a little bit numb steering feel, your braking won't be as good, and just overall, it just feels a little bit vague and numb while driving. The SumoSprings are gonna be a little bit taller and they actually do a really good job of being progressive, meaning once they compress, they're gonna get stiffer as you lean more on them. So they're gonna contact quicker, reducing that sway immediately, but as you turn harder, they're gonna fight back and really give your suspension a fighting chance and you're gonna feel that in the steering wheel every time you make a turn. Now with our Sumos installed, you're gonna notice pretty quickly once you lower that front down to get that axle back to normal height that there's not a whole lot of gap under here where these Sumos are gonna rest, especially compared to our factory jounce, and that's a good thing, it's going to initiate quicker and just there's gonna take less gap here for that sway to allow before engaging, and something else I'll point out is if you look at the factory jounce bumpers, these are hollow inside here. more

Hi there, motorhome owners. Today on your 2018 Tiffin Allegro Open Road we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install SumoSprings for the front axle. You can see that it is a split bushing design so that way our front suspension here can experience full travel unhindered by our spring, but still get all the dampening effects that we like from Sumos. The SumoSprings are designed to compress up to 80% to provide additional support for your suspension. Now it doesn't increase the amount of weight that you can carry, but it just helps to support it so it eases the rest of your suspension. It also acts like a dampening device to help absorb impacts on the road when you hit pothole and stuff like that rather than it transferring directly through your suspension into the chassis. more

Trucks are meant for work, generally, but as we've seen as trucks have gotten bigger and they become crew cabs, they become our daily drivers. And unfortunately, the suspension's kind of designed for comfortable driving, but when we need it to work, sometimes that suspension gets a little overworked and that's because our jounce bumpers can only do so much and it takes so long for that suspension to compress before they really do anything. And at that point, you're putting quite a bit of load on your suspension. So whether you have something in the bed of your truck that's heavy or you have a tongue weight that's heavy on a trailer, or in the case of our neighbor here, you're using a fifth wheel, that truck is gonna see sag in the back. And that's kind of bad for the rear suspension because it is overworking it. more

This is gonna increase your ride quality of your vehicle by reducing body roll and sway. So, if we don't have these installed what happens when somebody buys a newer rv Because it's basically a box that you're driving down the road, You get a large crosswind, maybe you're passing a tractor trailer, maybe you're turning, making a sharp turn. What happens, because the vehicle code is top heavy it tends to lean sway, and then when it comes back, it tends to go like this, kind of goes back and forth. That's body roll and sway. This spring is gonna greatly reduce that by absorbing that and not allowing the top of the vehicle to sway so far. more

Hi there Tiffin owners. Today in your 2018 Tiffin Allegra Open Road we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install sumo springs for the rear axle. You can see the upper portion is attached to the frame and the lower section here is attached to our axle on the leaf spring stack here. And it has constant contact between both and it operates somewhat similarly to like a jounce bumper. The factory jounce bumper's located there you can see it as much smaller. But the big difference is that our sumo spring here is in constant contact all the time. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2022 Ram 1500 Classic- Video
Today, we're upgrading the suspension on our 2022 Ram 1500 Classic with the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement Kit. This is going to replace your factory jounce stop and it's gonna be a little bit bigger. So as you can see, we have a little bit of a gap, we don't have anything in the bed so it's gonna activate a lot sooner. And these are gonna work independently from each other, one on one side, one on the other. So for some of those off center loads it's gonna be able to snap back to center pretty quickly, really improving the drive quality. The capacity of these are gonna be about 6,000 pounds and it's just high density, rubber which is gonna compress a little bit but definitely help your suspension snap back to center. more

So our ride quality's not going to decrease whenever we're not loading anything in the bed of our truck. more

Usually, what we like to do is get a bunch of weight, we got a big water tank, and put it in the bed of the truck. That way, we can get some weight over the axle and really test out those airbags. Now, this is what it's gonna look like installed. And compared to the factory jounce bumper or bump stop there it's quite a bit taller. And the great part about that is, is it's not necessarily going to bump up your capacity but it does have a load limit of 8,600 pounds. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Air Helper Springs Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado- Video
Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs for a 2012 Chevy Silverado. Now, if you tow trailers regularly, or you have a heavy load building up on the back of your truck, you may notice the decrease in the ability of your suspension to account for that weight and that's where these airbags come into play. They're wonderful because they are adjustable, so if you don't have a load loaded up on your vehicle, your vehicle's gonna operate just about as normal. But when you have that extra weight loaded up, you can add air to these, allowing you to really give it a more supple ride and it's also gonna help your suspension not wear out. Along with that, it's also gonna keep you safer, giving you better handling, less tire wear, better braking your headlight level will actually be where they should be instead of pointing up, and overall, it's gonna give you a lot more confidence when towing that load or carrying something heavy. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at installing the Air Lift Loadlifter 5000 rear airbags on a 2022 Ram 1500. Today's trucks have definitely gotten more comfortable as far as riding in them. And the Dodge suspension is very interesting in the fact that there's no leaf springs, and a lot of trucks are slowly going towards that. And it still has a lot of payload, and you can load this bed up, and really use it as a truck still. But sometimes, that suspension kind of gets to the point where it's doing the best it can, it's just kind of maxed out. more

SumoSprings Rebel Front Axle Helper Springs Installation - 2015 Winnebago Vista Motorhome- Video
Hi there Winnebago owners. Today in your 2015 Winnebago Vista, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install SumoSprings on the front axle. And this is what our SumoSprings look like when they're installed. Now we do currently still have our motorhome lifted up a little bit with the leveling jacks, just so we can show that it is a two-piece design here. You can see the upper piece and the lower piece and it's important for our front suspension to have that full travel there available to it 'cause as you're trying to steer, hitting potholes and stuff, it's important for our front wheels to maintain contact with the road so if it needs to separate, it needs to separate. So they've got a two-piece design there to allow the system still function the way it needs to, but once we apply weight to it or our motorhome starts to sway in one direction, our SumoSpring here can help to support some of that weight and to help also prevent sway. more
